Mia Funegra began training at AOJ Academy at just 7 years old, alongside her twin sister Ashlee and younger sister Natalee. Before earning her black belt, Mia dominated the colored belt ranks, winning every major title in both the juvenile and adult divisions. On May 29, 2025, she was promoted to black belt by Professor Gui Mendes alongside Ashlee. Three days later, she went on to win the light-featherweight division, becoming the youngest IBJJF black belt World Champion in history at just 18 years old. Off the mat, Mia and her sisters continue to lead by example — pushing boundaries, setting trends, and inspiring the next generation of young girls in jiu jitsu with their bold presence and world-class technique.
